The Toyota Harrier has been updated for 2022 by Toyota Malaysia, with the Improved Model (IMP) priced at RM274,000 on the road without insurance. Along with the updated model, UMW Toyota has also introduced a new variant – Harrier Luxury SE (for special edition) priced at RM277,000.

 

In February last year, the 2.0- litre Harrier Luxury was on its first show to the public at a price tag of RM249,707. After the SST exemption ends from July 1, the Harrier is priced at RM 259k. This makes the updated version RM15,000 more than before, but it comes with some handy upgrades, as reported by Wapcar Automotive News.

 

A major new feature was the Surround View Monitor (360-degree parking camera), which finally brought the Harrier up to date with the rest of the market. It operates via a new eight-inch touchscreen main unit (above), replacing the old standard HU. It appears to be a locally installed Toyota UMW unit with new navigation, with a single volume button instead of the previous rows of physical buttons.

 

An updated Toyota Safety Sense suite is also listed in the enhanced package. The feature list remains the same, but Pre-Collision Braking (AEB) can now detect oncoming traffic, pedestrians and cyclists, while Lane Departure Warning has been improved with edge detection. detects grass or pavement above the lane markings. Finally, the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (ACC) system can now adjust the speed according to each bend and bend.

 

A new addition is the Harrier Luxury SE, which has a unique metallic red exterior color, with a hint of brown in the cabin for an extra RM3,000. The interior is still mostly black, but the door panels and center console are now partially upholstered in brown leather. In terms of powertrain, the fourth-generation Harrier continues to use the same 2.0-liter Dynamic Force M20A-FKS four-cylinder engine for 173 hp at 6,600 rpm and 203 Nm of torque from 4,400 to 4,400 rpm. 4,900 rpm. The same engine is also found in the Toyota RAV4. 

 

The 2.0-liter Dynamic Force engine is paired with a Direct Shift-CVT transmission to drive the front wheels. The Harrier accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.7 seconds, with a top speed of 190 km/h. Its fuel consumption is rated at 15.3 km/L (or 6.5 L/100 km).

 

Standard features include bi-LED projector headlights, front and rear LED fog lights, a hands-free power tailgate, a panoramic sunroof, an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay. and wired Android Auto, six speakers, and a seven-inch color TFT instrument cluster. display. The cabin also includes features like wireless charging, five USB-C ports, a head-up display, front and rear digital video recorders (DVRs), and digital rearview mirrors.

 

The new Toyota Harrier IMP is offered with 5 exterior color options, including Metallic Gray Gray, Steel Gold and Metallic Dark Blue. As before, the Precious Black and Platinum White pearl colors will cost an extra RM800.
