Electronic Entertainment Expo: Every year one of the largest video game fairs

With 22 years running, the Electronic Entertainment Expo has become one of the most important events for video game fans. Although it has been changing places throughout its two decades, it seems that Los Angeles is the favorite city of its organizers, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA).
Every year, between 45,000 and 60,000 fans, including players and journalists, attend the weekend to see what the biggest companies are planning for the future. Developing games is a long job, and there are often titles that need a few years to be polished and released.
Still, with the shelves of Nintendo, Microsoft, Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Sony, Steam and just about every major company in the industry packed with new stuff, it’s hard not to be amazed. This event always generates a lot of expectation. Every year there are hits and misses. And every year fans come back salivating and crossing days off their calendars for the next release.
The companies that make consoles prefer to release them to the public before E3 so they can use the event as a showcase. It happened when the new Smash Bros, the new Zelda, the new Metal Gear or the new Uncharted were introduced.
There are conflicting opinions about E3. What was once one of the most anticipated events of the year for the gaming industry is now seen as a marketing opportunity attended only by the trade press. In any case, the novelties continue to come out, and companies invest millions of dollars in getting presentations that leave attendees speechless.
If you want to know what’s new at E3 2017, we’ve compiled the
most interesting games and news.

Nintendo

If we had to choose an E3 winner, it would be the Japanese giant. First of all, they have a well-defined roadmap for their new Switch. At first, the hybrid console (it can be used as a laptop or desktop) seemed like it would not have much of a future, but it has been well received by critics and the public and many companies have opted for the new platform.
However, the main protagonist of the Japanese company was not its new console, but the next game that will make its most emblematic character: Super Mario Odyssey. While all Mario games have managed to be successful, fans have divided them into two categories: those that are “ok” and those that are true works of art of 3D platform games.
Super Mario 64 (1996) and Super Mario Sunshine (2002) fall into the latter category, and Nintendo is well aware that they have that bar to beat. With Odyssey, which will be released this year, they want to be on a par with the Nintendo 64 and Gamecube titles. It only remains to wait to see if they succeed.
In addition, they took the opportunity to present Metroid Prime 4, the latest installment of Samus Aran’s adventures on alien planets. One of the best action games that the house has produced since the introduction of the saga for arcades in 1986.

Kingdom Hearts

One of the most successful titles from Square Enix, the same company behind legendary games like Final Fantasy, is the action role-playing game (ARPG) Kingdom Hearts. Better graphics, good gameplay and the return of the Disney characters along with the adventures of Sora, its protagonist.
This game has sold millions of copies throughout its various installments and has been adapted to many platforms, including its own manga series. Square Enix also has the bar very high with previous installments and millions of fans are eagerly awaiting its release.

Microsoft took the opportunity to present its new console. Or rather, the evolution of your current console. They emphasized that this version is the most powerful console produced to date, and that it is capable of playing titles in 4K quality. In fact, in his press conference it was one of the characteristics that his speakers repeated the most.
Additionally, the One X features backwards functionality for titles from previous Xbox generations, allowing classic games to be enjoyed again without resorting to quirky workarounds or using emulators on your PC. A good success on the part of the North American company.

Other interesting titles

One of the most praised games for its graphic quality was “The Last Night”, which has been compared to “Shadow of the Colossus” for its art. The campaign mode of Call of Duty: WWII also aroused the interest of the specialized press.
For many fans, the best fights are the ones from Dragon Ball (pingback to dragon ball movie). To your delight, they introduced “Dragon Ball Fighter Z,” which follows in the footsteps of the successful Budokai with which many gamers spent entire afternoons mimicking the series’ impossible fights.
The new Spiderman game looks incredible, with the stunts between the skyscrapers of New York. Bethesda has taken the opportunity to use the graphic engine of the acclaimed Fallout 4 to present a story in which the Nazis took control of the US, in a similar way to “The Man in the High Castle” by Philip K. Dick.
