Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Reach at Lohajung , 260 Km drive from Rishikesh;  10-11 hours

The journey from Rishikesh to Lohajung takes 10–11 hours and covers a distance of 260 km, passing via the picturesque hill towns of Devprayag, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Gauchar, Karnaprayag, Tharali, and Dewal. The Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers meet at Devprayag, where they take the name Ganga or Ganges. Stop for a brief break there for refreshments and to capture the moment on camera. The Brahmatal trip starts and ends in Lohajung, which also acts as its base camp. The accommodation will be in a guest house, camp, or homestay after arriving in Lohajung and will be shared. If necessary, you can get the essentials for trekking at any of the several local stores. You should, however, prepare all of the gear you’ll need in advance and avoid depending on a store for supplies.

Day 2: Lohajung  to Bekaltal ; 5 Km, 4-5 hours

The initial day of the walk begins with a 4- to 5-hour journey from Lohajung to Bekaltal. Early in the morning, eat breakfast, and then get ready to start. Follow the climbing human-made stone path right next to Lohajung. The Nanda Ghunti Peak would be visible in some breathtaking views along the journey. Most of the trek is spent inside a coniferous forest made up of cedar, oak, and fir trees. As you ascend higher, you can see the Kali valley since that is where the Kali and Pindari rivers converge. The lake shimmers serenely amid dense oak woodlands in the summer, but the trail would be very muddy in the winter when it is frozen. Tents will be set up for lodging in Bekaltal.

Day 3: Bekaltal  to Telandi ; 2 Km, 2 hours

The quick hike to Telandi Campsite, famous for its enormous, open snowfield in the winter, will take place today. From Bekaltal Campsite, Telandi is accessible in around two hours. The trail descends steeply to reach Telandi Top Meadow before emerging into an oak and rhododendron forest. The Telandi meadow will transform into a sizable snowfield in the winter, gliding through the landscape in a thrilling gala. The hike down to Telandi Campsite is relatively gradual from here. Views of the majestic Himalayas are breathtaking from here. Make camp for the night after a brief day hike.

Day 4: Telandi  to Brahmatal Lake  via Brahmatal Top ; 8 Km, 7-8 hours

Prepare for the climb to the summit of Brahmatal by rising early at 5:00 AM, eating breakfast, and getting moving. From Jhandi Top, a 1 kilometre difficult hike from Telandi, take in the breathtaking morning view. A climb of about 212 hours is needed from here to the summit of Brahmatal. They would all be ascents along the road. Mt. Trishul and Nanda Ghunti may be seen majestically from the trail, which traverses a mountain crest with lowlands on either side.

Day 5: Telandi  to Lohajung ; 7.5 Km, 4-5 hours

You would be departing from Mother Nature’s immaculate lap today. Start your journey to Lohajung after breakfast by taking a steeply downhill trail from Telandi. It takes 4-5 hours to climb back to Lohajung through the dense rhododendron and oak forests. A water source can be found in Gujrani while on the trek. From here, take the trail south to Lohajung.

Day 6: Drive from Lohajung to Rishikesh

Since the trip to Rishikesh takes 10–11 hours, leave from Lohajung as early in the day as possible—ideally before 6:30 AM. By 7:00 PM, we anticipate arriving in Rishikesh. At 6:30 AM, transportation from Lohajung will be provided at an extra cost. 7,000 rupees is the cost of each cab.
